Operation Prairie Dog is good for all of ND

As a life-long North Dakotan and a parent of two children, I hope that all North Dakotans support House Bill 1066, which reinvests oil taxes in western North Dakota and funds infrastructure across the state.

The North Dakota Legislature has made significant investment in the state’s western communities. The “Surge Bill” passed in 2015 was a game-changer, and it came at just the right time. The investments in targeted key infrastructure projects dramatically improved the safety of western North Dakota roadways and provided resources to communities for managing their growth and restoring a sense of normalcy for residents, workers, and families. Those changes have positively impacted North Dakota. They helped us recruit employees by enhancing the quality of life and amenities in western North Dakota and have made these communities great places to live, work, and raise a family.

The “Best of the Bakken” is yet to come. The technology utilized to tap this world-class resource just gets better and better. The passage of HB 1066 supports western communities and encourages continued growth of our state’s best returning asset, the Bakken. Furthermore, this bill will provide a regular funding mechanism to help address needs and enhance the quality of life in communities throughout our state – in both the east and west – for the benefit of every North Dakota citizen and industry.

Please tell your legislators to support House Bill 1066.
