Governor Burgum is spending many hours working with his Higher Education Governance Committee and missing the target. The result of the committee should not be a better governance system for UND and NDSU; it should be a more educated workforce for North Dakota.

Currently, the ND State Board of Career and Technical Education is our biggest driver of workforce and apprenticeship needs and it is housed under the State Board for Career and Technical Education. The membership of this ND board is basically composed of all secondary type leaders.

Governor, let’s get on track for your desire to create a more viable workforce for all sectors of our North Dakota economy. Yes, it is the wrong membership for the ND State Board of Career and Technical Education that needs your attention now!
