Booming economy hard to ignore

Rep. Jeff Magrum

Hazelton

The unemployment rate hit a near 50-year low in May. In June, 213,000 jobs were added to the economy. And just the other week, GDP growth reached 4.1 percent, a level not seen in over four years.

The surge in economic advancement is not a random occurrence but is largely a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act–legislation that has benefited all Americans, including us here in North Dakota.

The Tax Foundation estimates that roughly 622 jobs will be added to the Roughrider State’s economy in 2018 as a result of the tax relief package. And the average tax cut for each North Dakotan family will amount to $1,500 this year.

North Dakotan’s should ignore the baseless attacks on the tax legislation and instead celebrate the benefits everyone is experiencing.
