How do I go about getting a city contract? In addition to the parking garages and new garbage trucks, and who knows what all, I’d like to tell about a local company who got a contract to upgrade water lines in the 400 block of 15th Avenue SW.

They were supposed to begin on Monday, the 21st. They finally showed up on Thursday, the 24th. They dug up the road, made lots of noise and dust, then left all the equipment on the road and went home, around 2 p.m.

Today is Friday, the 25th, and no one has returned to the site. The road is still torn up, and blocked off, and the work site is abandoned. So forget whatever you heard about no more bad contracts, or oh my we are sorry about this and that and the other thing.

Nothing has changed.

So, how do I go about getting a city contract? I’d love to get paid millions for doing absolutely nothing.
