Big choice coming up

N.D. State Rep. Dan Ruby

Minot

North Dakotans have a monumental choice to make on Nov. 6 of this year. When faced with the prospect of voting for Congressman Kevin Cramer or Senator Heitkamp, the contrast between the two on how much they value American citizens and the rule of law could not be starker.

On Feb. 15, Senator Heitkamp joined with Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrat leadership in blocking a proposal that would rein in cities that refuse to comply with Federal immigration law. As it stands, these lawless sanctuary cities continue to allow criminally active illegal aliens to roam the streets freely, giving them a pass and indicating they don’t have to play by the same rules as everyday American citizens. Tragically, this miscarriage of justice and blatant disregard for the rule of law has even sometimes resulted in the death of Americans. Sadly, these deaths were entirely preventable if it weren’t for misguided attempts at scoring political points.

Thankfully, North Dakotans have a consistent advocate seeking to end sanctuary cities in Congressman Kevin Cramer. On Jan. 12, the House passed a bill that limited the flow of federal dollars to sanctuary cities which Congressman Cramer himself co-sponsored. It is abundantly clear that Congressman Cramer is the choice for North Dakotans who value the rule of law and a return to common-sense immigration policy. To get sanctuary cities defunded in the senate, we must elect Kevin Cramer as our state’s next U.S. Senator this Nov. 6. He will put those who play by the rules first.
