Right to die

Dennis Ness

According to a MDN columnist, school killings are not an epidemic. The research he cites does not include statistics beyond 2014-15. This columnist bases his knowledge and judgment on one research that states that “4 times the number of children were killed in schools in the early 1990s than today.”

I assume that he does not feel staff and other adults who were killed are worthy of mention. What would the numbers say when everyone and the last two years are included? What do other researches say? How many need to die for it to be called an epidemic?

The next local opinion by this columnist writes about politicians who are trying to take away constitutional rights, specifically Senator Heitkamp. I do not know what his reasons are for this vendetta against Senator Heitkamp but I do feel safer flying with the no fly list. The ability of the government to restrict who can have weapons of mass destruction is viable and necessary for today’s society. That is unless you believe the rights of criminals, incompetents and dangerous people come before those who are not.

So Rob Port, with your last two opinions I have come to the conclusion you believe that those who have been or will be killed in or around schools had/have the right to die. Also those people in Las Vegas, I assume you believe had the right to die.
