Proud to be a Minot State Beaver!

Andy Carter

Minot

During my first year as the Director of Athletics, I have been overwhelmed by the genuine excitement and outpouring of support for Minot State University and Beaver Athletics. I have seen first-hand the passion of our fans in Herb Parker Stadium and the Dome during athletic contests, observed the work ethic of our staff, coaches, and student athletes, and witnessed the kindness of the Minot community with the acceptance of my family. To say I am excited to be a Beaver would be a huge understatement.

Over the last eight months, Beaver Nation has gone through a tremendous amount of change. I am a firm believer that these changes bring incredible opportunities. My conversations with staff and coaches in Beaver Athletics have revealed a strong commitment to the university, athletic department, and student-athletes. As I visit with Beaver Alums, there is an exciting level of support and passion that is tangible. As I engage community and campus leadership I have learned how deep the roots of Beaver Athletics reach.

The process has been both enjoyable and intense. It’s led me to believe that while the first days of my time leading your athletic department have been important, the next days are crucial. During this time, we will be organizing our thoughts to create a strategic plan that captures the current state of Beaver Athletics and provide the direction for the next five years and beyond. This plan will focus on creative ways to develop our student-athletes academically, athletically, and socially. It will also entail methods to support our coaches and athletes with unique programs and updated facilities. The end result will be the framework of what Beaver Athletics will become.

Most importantly, now that the spring semester is in full flow, we are supporting all of our student-athletes. This is a critical time for us, but not just to sort through long-term plans. It is important that we continue to support and enjoy the moment with our exceptional coaches and our outstanding student-athletes. It’s been a great first few months for me and my family here in Minot, and I look forward to celebrating many wins and accomplishments.

Go Beavers!
