Standard procedure
Odd Lauren Osteroos, Burlington
It has become obvious this week that standard operating procedure for Obama and his administration is a consists of Chicago-like mobster activities including intimidation, harassment, cronyism, and sordid means. We have not seen such a concerted effort to destroy all opposition in decades. Sadly, people are slow to admit the man they thought provided a fresh direction in American politics has instead used tactics that more closely resemble those used by third-world strong-arm dictatorships than of a leader in the world’s foremost democracy. Many were taken in and are only now beginning to admit their mistake.
I don’t expect most will go public with their misgivings. The frightening thought is that so many are still highly invested in this complete failure of a president. It will take a long time for the U.S. to recover from the wounds to our democracy.
