North Dakota State Fair’s well worth a visit

With today and Saturday left of the 2021 North Dakota State Fair, if you haven’t been there yet there’s still plenty of time for you to make the trip to the fairgrounds.

The fair is a significant event because it’s the official state fair of North Dakota based right here in Minot.

Agriculture is the backbone of the North Dakota State Fair. It is the culmination of work for hundreds of 4-H and FFA members throughout the state who exhibit their projects and show their livestock and/or poultry during the run of the fair. It is a learning experience for these young people to take part in the State Fair and be part of such a major event.

For those who have exhibits in open class, it gives them an opportunity to share their work with others.

People go to the fair for various reasons – for the food, for the entertainment, etc. – but it’s also a place of learning through the numerous exhibits and other displays set up by businesses, organizations and individuals from the local area, across the state and out of state.

There’s many aspects of the fair for visitors to view or take part in during a visit there.

It’s been hot during this year’s fair but people can duck into buildings to find a break from the heat.

“We have had the most incredible days of the fair,” said Renae Korslien, fair general manager, during a special event of the North Dakota State Fair Foundation on Wednesday.

Two more days are left, perhaps if you haven’t been there yet you’ll take the opportunity to make a visit to the fair.
