Many people might have thought that with the release of Robert Mueller’s report on the investigation into the campaign of President Donald Trump and suspected collusion with Russia, that would be the inquiry. This in the light of there having been no discovery of evidence of collusion.

Instead of the issue being closed, many in Congress, media and in other high-profile positions want to see an endless array of investigations.

North Dakota’s congressional delegation is unified behind the right idea – that it is time to move on from investigations, accept the result of the 2016 presidential election and get on to doing what Congress should be doing, working with the White House and congressional Republicans to address the needs of the people of the United States.

“Robert Mueller spent nearly two years and $35 million writing a 450-page report that found zero members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with Russia… Mueller is now moving on from the investigation, and it is time for Democrats and the media to do the same,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer.

Cramer hit the nail on the head. If two years and $35 million invested by the FBI, the leading investigative agency, couldn’t find evidence of collusion then months of hearings are little more than theater.

And bad theater, no less.

Without proof of a crime being committed, allegations of obstruction of justice seem like a weak cause to continue dodging congressional responsibilities.

Some politicians, some talking heads and Twitterverse might want to see this long episode continue.

However, Sens. Cramer, John Hoeven and Congressman Kelly Armstrong are three leaders stepping up to take the correct position.
