Minot
Larry Dale Hall, 88, Minot, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, died Friday, October 2, 2026, in a Minot hospital, with his family by his side.
Larry was born January 10, 1938, to John and Myrtle Hall in Thief River Falls, MN. He was raised on the family farm, located north of town. Larry attended grade school in Holt, MN and later graduated from Newfolden High School in Minnesota in 1956.
Following high school, Larry worked in construction for a brief time and then entered the military, serving in the U.S Army from 1961-1963. He married Ashlyn Honebrink in 1962, and they made their home in Alexandria, VA and Thief River Falls, MN.
In 1966, they moved to Minot, ND. Larry began working for the airlines as a customer service agent; first for North Central Airlines, then Republic Airlines, and lastly Northwest Airlines/Delta. Larry fully retired in 2003. Since 1995 they have resided in Minot during the summer months and Bradenton, FL during the winter.
Larry enjoyed spending time playing bocce ball, shooting pool, riding bike, hanging out at the gym, and relaxing at the beach with his wife Ashlyn during his retirement years in Florida. He also enjoyed golfing and working with computers when he was in Minot. He always looked forward to the stimulating conversation with the “Hardee’s boys” coffee group.
Larry was a longtime member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the American Legion.
His family includes: his loving wife, Ashlyn Hall; children, Ivy (Floyd) Rennie of Boise, ID, Scott (Suzette) Hall of Lakeville, MN, Darren (Danja) Hall of Fargo, ND, and Steven (Melinda) Hall of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Allysn (TJ) Rhodes, David (Victoria) Rennie, Tanner Hall, Alex Hall, Jayce Hall, Elayna Hall, Thomas Hall, Halie (Jeremy) Benson and Mekenzie Hall; great-granddaughter Marlo, baby boy Benson due in January, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Myrtle Hall; brother, Harold Hall; sister, Marlys Erickson; brother-in-law, Dennis Erickson; mother and father-in-law Myrtle Honebrink and Sam Honebrink, and son-in-law Floyd Rennie.
A visitation will be held at the Thomas Family Funeral Home on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot. A livestream of the service will be available on the funeral home website.
Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan, ND at a later date.
