Bismarck
Kelly Moore, 77, passed away at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND, on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Memorial Service will be held at Springan-Stevenson Funeral Home in Stanley, ND, at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15th, 2026. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
Kelly was born to Andy and Myrtle (Lindahl) Moore on March 4, 1949, in Minot, ND. He was raised in Blasidell, ND, attending school in Blaisdell and Stanley, ND, and briefly studied at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND.
On June 24, 1972, He married Lori Picek in Ross, ND at her parents' home. They resided in Stanley until 1986, when they moved to Minot, ND. Over the years, he worked various jobs driving truck during the summer time while primarily driving school bus for Northland Bus Co in Minot during school years, which transitioned into driving school bus for Minot Public Schools until his medical retirement from work in February, 2017, after a brief bout with liver cancer, and receiving a liver transplant. In April 2018, Kelly and Lori moved to Bismarck, ND where they resided until her death in 2022, and almost four years later, his own passing.
Kelly enjoyed spending quality time with his wife of 50 years, their kids and grandchildren, and traveling around the region. He loved visiting family and friends wherever he went, seeming to know someone, somehow, in any given area. He loved to draw/sketch, listening to Bluegrass and Celtic music with such enthusiasm, and a day didn’t go by without a few episodes of Andy Griffith or Beverly Hillbillies being necessary viewing.
Kelly had a huge love of life, humor, and music, and cherished meeting new people and the endearing friendships that lasted for decades, and will be remembered for being a kind and loving father/grandfather, etc, with an open heart and a calming presence.
Kelly is survived by daughters Michelle Earle (Bismarck, ND), and Natalie Mock (Jeff) (Maxbass, ND), sons Brook/BJ Moore (Mandy) (Fargo, ND), and Tyler Moore (Ruth) (Bismarck, ND). Siblings Dallas Moore (Debby) (Blaisdell, ND), Jane Dobrovolny (Stanley, ND), and Eileen Lindbo (Lynn) (Newburg, ND). Siblings-In-Laws Kerry Picek (Pam) (Gilbert, AZ), Lisa Weigel (Stanley, ND), Joey Meiers (Karlyn) (West Fargo, ND), Donald Picek Jr. (Wyoming), and Dennis Picek (Rochester, MN). Grandchildren: Shayla Moore, Otto, Kay, Karley, Shayann Mock, Austin Putney, Lane Moore, and grand-cat Oliver. Great-Grandchildren: Aiden, Jayda, Dion, Macie, and Kaiden, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: Wife: Lori Moore, Mother: Myrtle (Lindahl) Moore, Father: Andy Moore, Sister: Judy Cvancara and brother-in-law’s: Jack Cvancara and Ted Dobrovolny. Mother-in-law: Eileen Meiers, and Fathers-in-laws: Wilfred Meiers and Donald Picek Sr.
Funeral arrangements are being made with DaWise-Perry/Mandan Crematory, Mandan, North Dakota.
