Virginia Haman, 84, Minot, died Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in her home.
Virginia Cecelia Leinen was born on October 11, 1941, a daughter of Michael and Viola (Miller) Leinen in Breckenridge, MN. She was raised and graduated from High School in Fairmount, ND.
Virginia was united in marriage to Richard Haman on October 15, 1960, at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. In 1961, their family grew with the birth of their daughter, Judith "Judy" Lynn. While they initially lived in Wahpeton, they ultimately settled in Minot in 1966. They built a home in Meadowbrook Estates and remained there for 14 years. In 1984, the family moved north of Bismarck, ND, and "Haman's Mini-ranch," along the Missouri River near Wilton, ND came to fruition. They spent 36 glorious years there.
Richard and Ginger sold their mini-ranch in 2018 and relocated to Minot to be near their daughter, settling into a charming home just a mile away. The property was a miniature reflection of their beloved ranch, featuring a shop for Richard’s tools and outbuildings for his refurbished Karmann Ghia, gator, garden tractor, and Neal and Judy's camper. Shortly before Richard passed away on September 3, 2022, Virginia moved to Edgewood Vista memory care. Her family is profoundly grateful for the exceptional care she was given during her time there.
Virginia enjoyed working with her hands, refurbishing dolls, sewing, quilting, baking, gardening and raising chickens. She was always an active member of the church wherever she lived and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America in Wilton, ND.
Virginia is survived by: daughter Judith (Neal) Walter, Minot; grandsons Michael (Aily Schoen) Walter, Steven (Kelsey) Walter and Jonathan Walter; two great-grandsons Miles and Rory Walter; siblings: Jerry (Jeanne) Leinen, Ronald (Dyanne) Leinen, James Leinen, Michael Leinen, Paul (Rhonda) Leinen, Mark Leinen, Donald Leinen, Carole Rowin, Mary Espitia, Debra (Jerry) Kent, Rita Olson; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
