Michael Morin, 63, Minot, ND, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Michael Gordon Morin was born May 14, 1963, the son of Gordon Morin and Mary Ann (Amyotte) Preston in Los Angeles, California. He was raised and educated from the age of two in Dunseith, graduating from St. John High School in 1981.

Following high school he attended Job Corp in Montana to learn carpentry. He moved to Mississippi where he worked at Dominos, delivered newspapers, and was a volunteer firefighter. He returned to North Dakota, settling in Sawyer in 1996.

Michael worked for many years at The Minot Daily News, Stevick Business and Specialties Wearables, BarnYard Screen Printing and most recently at Panera Bread for the last 11 years.

He married Debra Ripplinger on June 18, 2021, in Minot. They made their home in Minot. Michael was blessed with 11 children.

He enjoyed watching his LA Rams football team, playing pool and darts and was in the Minot dart and pool leagues. He also enjoyed watching Nascar and his favorite car was the M&M which led to his M&M collection. His hobbies were fishing, golfing, hanging out with his puppy kids, family and friends.

Michael will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his jokester personality, and his ability to tell a great story. He was incredibly loved and he will be deeply missed.

His loving family includes: wife of 5 years; Debra Morin; father, Gordan J Morin; children, Heather Freeman, Michelle Scoles, Jamie Morin, Amy Lynn, Sam Rexine, Marina Morin, Kris Hluska, Jordan DesJarlais, Jennifer Haggerty, Jackie St. Clair; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Ames, Cindy Quechuleno, Sandy Dzandzo-Abrokwa, Julie Morin, Darcey Preston (Aaron Jung); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Mary and Hugh Preston; maternal and paternal grandparents; sister, Diana Preston; brother, Jeffery Morin; infant son, Joseph Morin; daughter, Nicole Livingood.

Funeral: Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at The Pursuit Church, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
