Lyle Thomas Colvert passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 20, 2026.
Tom was born in Stanley, ND on February 23, 1936 to Perry and Ester Colvert. He graduated from Stanley High School and attended Wahpeton State School of Science. He married Janice Afseth on February 8, 1959 and worked at the family grocery store before moving to Minot in 1965.
He began his career with Minot Realty first selling real estate and insurance and then as a property manager.
After retiring in 1997 they spent summers in Minot and winters in Las Vegas eventually moving permanently to Nevada.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends, doing crossword puzzles and going for walks. He was a lifelong golfer and loved to watch the Minnesota Vikings. Tom was a role model and an inspiration to his entire family.
He is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Kay, and son Scott (Michelle), granddaughters Lindsey and Taylor and great-granddaughter Savanah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Howard and John and his son-in-law Jerry Iverson.
