Catherine Hegre

Catherine Hegre, 89, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, in her daughter's home.

Catherine A. Klein was born June 26, 1937, the daughter of Frank and Lena (Schmidt) Klein, in Minot. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Leo Catholic Church. Catherine was raised on the family farm in Norwich until 1952 when she moved with her parents to Minot. In 1955, she graduated from St. Leo's High School.

Catherine married Myron Hegre on October 13, 1956, at Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot and were blessed with four children.

Following her graduation, Catherine worked for several Minot businesses including, Harmon Auto Glass and All American City Glass. She retired after working part-time at Minot Public Schools.

Myron passed away April 12, 2011. Catherine and Myron were members of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Catherine belonged to the Altar Society, pastoral care, and also volunteered at Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry throughout the years.

While Myron was living they spent many summers at their lake cabin where Myron loved to fish. They had many fun times with family and friends. They also spent several winters in Mesa, Arizona, spending time with family on holidays and birthdays, especially with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ayden is a special angel, a great-grandchild who everyone loves very much.

Catherine enjoyed playing cards with special friends, playing bingo, and occasionally going to the casino. Spending time with family was very important to her.

Her loving family includes: children, Jayne (Rick) Reisenauer, Judy (Clarey) Tryhus, Lisa (Steve) Sperling, Tom Hegre (Rhonda Johnson); grandchildren, David (Lynne) Reisenauer, Melissa (Justin) Loper, Ashley Reisenauer, Kristin McKibbin, Stephanie Sperling (Bruce Rudland), Lindsey (Aaron) Newman, Travis Sperling (Becky Schweitzer), Tasha Hegre; great-grandchildren, Maecey McKibbin, Kaleb Gray, Arianna Gray, Braxton Hickel, Holdyn Sperling, Ayden Sperling, Avery Sperling, Aubry Sperling, Hayes Reisenauer, Winter Reisenauer, Tinslee Sperling, Kahlen Newman, Teagen Loper; sister-in-law, Clara Klein; brother-in-law, Jerry Mikel; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Myron; brothers, Leo (Theresa) Klein, Ed (Lenora) Klein, William Klein; sister, Marilyn Mikel, Beatrice (Frank) Merck; great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Aschenbrenner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Agnes Hegre; sister-in-law, Yvonne Nielson.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: are preferred to Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry.
