New Town
Andrew Fredericksen, 39, New Town, ND, formerly of Minot and Bottineau, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Trinity Hospital.
Andrew Fredericksen was born on March 31, 1987, in Minot, North Dakota, to Earl and Jill (Halvorson) Fredericksen. He was the baby of the family. His first seven years were spent in Minot, where he was truly Grandpa’s boy and spent many mornings sitting at the table with him. Andrew attended kindergarten through second grade in Minot.
At the age of seven, Andrew and his family moved to Bottineau, North Dakota, where he attended school and graduated from Bottineau High School. Throughout the years, Andrew worked at Amoco, Cenex, Conoco, MTI, and at the family’s Lake Loop Restaurant at Lake Metigoshe. In 2004, the family opened the Better B Café in New Town. In the years that followed, Andrew divided his time between Bottineau and New Town, surrounded by friends and family. He held a variety of jobs, including blackjack dealer, bartender, restaurant manager, and many other roles.
Andrew cherished time spent with his family, especially when his nieces and nephews were around. Family gatherings filled with games and laughter were some of his favorite moments. He dearly loved his dogs, Jack, who preceded him in death, and Lily. Andrew also enjoyed traveling with friends, playing darts, singing karaoke, and spending time with those he cared about. He was a devoted fan of UND hockey, NDSU football, and his beloved Minnesota Vikings. Those who knew him often joked that he left us before he could finally see the Vikings win a Super Bowl.
Andrew is survived by his faithful dog, Lily; his parents, Earl and Jill Fredericksen; his sister, Melissa (Alex) Baier; his brother, James (Becky) Fredericksen; his nephews, Hunter, Kiefer, and Miles; his nieces, Skylee, Savannah, and Alyssa; his uncle, Carl (Joanne) Fredericksen; and his cousins, Kevin (Sarah) Juergens, Marlin Thorson, Kaitlyn Thorson, Adam Fredericksen, Brandon Fredericksen, Zach Fredericksen, and Chelsea (Stephen) Latham.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud and Frances Halvorson and Harold and Barb Fredericksen; his aunt and uncle, Richard and Julie Juergens; his cousin, Kari Thorson; and his aunt, Barb Fredericksen.
Funeral: Friday, August 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
