Adeline Guy, 91, Minot, died Thursday, August 6, 2026 in a Minot hospital.
Adeline "Addy" was born September 21, 1934, in Edam, Saskatchewan, Canada to John and Emma (Koenig) Leischner. She moved with her family to Manfred in 1939 where she attended country schools and Manfred School. After the family moved to Fessenden, she graduated from Fessenden High School in 1952.
Adeline married Milton 'Mike' Guy on August 16, 1952, in Sidney, MT. Following their marriage, they made their home in Minot and were blessed with four children. Addy's enormous generosity, legendary family meals and genuine family devotion will be missed by all those that were blessed to be a part of their life. Her friends and family felt her gift of a nurturing presence and love.
Adeline was a faithful member of Southside Church of the Nazarene and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary for over 50 years, holding various local, district and state offices including State President (1991-1992) during her tenure. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Trinity Hospital Auxiliary as well as State Hospital Chairperson of the VFW Auxiliary (1995-1997) and NARVE. Also, she was a local Election Board Inspector, National Youth Activities and Voice of Democracy Speech Contest Chairperson, and an appointee to the Selective Service District Appeal Board after 13 years on the local Selective Service Board. Addy trained volunteers with Trinity Hospice, volunteered 4000 hours at the Air Force Hospital and volunteered at Trinity Nursing Home. While her children were young, Addy was active with the Minot Swim Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and School PTAs. Her hobbies included volunteer work and time spent in her garden.
They enjoyed more than 50 years of cherished memories during summers at their Lake Metigoshe summer home. Addy joins her beloved Mike who passed away earlier this year on February 3, 2026.
Adeline is survived by her children Lynn Rogelstad, Minot, Ray Guy, Mesa, AZ, Ronald (Pamela) Guy, Minneapolis, MN and Mark (Sheila) Guy, Minot, ND; grandchildren Erik Rogelstad, Isaac (Marisa) Rogelstad, Daniel Guy, Michael Guy, Steven Guy, MacAllan (Emily) Guy, Mitchell (Molly) Guy, Marshall Guy, Lyndon (Alycia) Coutts and Shanda Guy; great grandchildren Malin and Soren Coutts, Henry Guy and Addie Rogelstad; sister-in-law: Beth Leischner; special nephew: Jeremy (Reba) Leischner and their children: Lucy and Greta along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Addy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike, son-in-law Ron Rogelstad and siblings Marian Suckut, Earl Leichner and Raymond Leischner and sister-in-law: Ruth Hostetter.
Celebration of Adeline Guy's Life: 11:00 am Friday, August 14, 2026 at Southside Church of the Nazarene, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred to VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Cancer Society for aid and research or to an organization of the donor's choice.
