Harvey
Phyllis Dockter, 91, of Harvey, formerly of Anamoose, died Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday July 29 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.
Phyllis was born on October 7, 1934 in Minot, ND. She was the daughter of Hilmer and Hazel (Johnson) Hill. She grew up and attended school in Martin and graduated from Martin High School. Phyllis then attended college at Minot State University where she was the Homecoming Queen. She graduated in 1953 with a teaching certificate. Phyllis married Arlo Dockter on June 26, 1955 in Roseglen, ND. They lived in Minot for several years. They then moved south of Anamoose where Arlo farmed, and Phyllis taught in Harvey, Minot, Anamoose and Butte. She taught at these area schools for 18 years. She then was a substitute teacher for over 25 years. Phyllis and Arlo moved to West Fargo in July of 2006. They also enjoyed spending winters in Arizona. Phyllis was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Anamoose VFW Auxiliary and served on the Sheridan County Social Services Board.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Renae Dockter of Rugby, David and Becky Dockter of Harvey; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Brad) Johnson, Joshua Dockter, Dustin, Tyler, Alexis and Jacob Dockter; eight great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arlo on August 13, 2011; grandson, Nathan Dockter; brothers, Howard and Reid Hill.
