Lois Hoglund

Lois Ann Hoglund (Rice), 87, recently of Minot, North Dakota, passed away peacefully joining her Lord on June 13, 2026, in Castle Rock, Colorado. Lois was born on March 26, 1939 and was raised in Bowbells, North Dakota.

Lois was the be loved wife of Carl M. Hoglund Jr. of Castle Rock, Colorado. Together, they shared an extraordinary 68 years of marriage, building a life filled with love and cherished memories.

Lois was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, and her faith remained central to her life. Lois found great joy in spending time with family and friends. Lois was a Bowbells Eskimo high school Cheerleader, majorette and played the flute.

Lois raised her children in Mohall and worked at the hospital and Gate City Bank for many years. She traveled the world including the Great Wall of China, the pyramids of Egypt, much of Europe, rode a camel in Petra Syria and was an Arizona snowbird creating countless treasured memories that will endure in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was a devoted mother to her daughter Pamela Welker (David) of Castle Pines, Colorado, son Gregory Hoglund (Cheri) of Williston, North Dakota and son Michael J. Hoglund deceased; a loving grandmother to her grandchildren Addison Welker of Denver, Colorado; Ian Welker of Castle Pines, Colorado; Ashley Larson of Carpio, North Dakota; Dylan Hoglund of Williston, North Dakota, Breanna Martinez of Parker, Colorado and Michael J.C. Hoglund deceased.

Lois is survived by her brother James “Jim” Rice of Bismarck, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Bill” and Bertie Rice of Bowbells, North Dakota and her sisters EllaMae Schultz of Minot and Eleanor Nehring of Ray.

Celebration of life will be July 11th, 2026 at the Ivy Senior Living in Castle Rock and inurnment will take place at the Mandan, North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

May Lois’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Mayo Cancer Clinic Rochester Minn. in memory of Lois Hoglund.
