Lenore Scheresky, 94, Minot, formerly of Des Lacs, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in her home.

Lenore Hines was born on December 8, 1931, to William and Martha (Carroll) Hines in Loyalton, South Dakota. She attended school there through the 6th grade, before her family moved to Aberdeen. Lenore graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1949 and moved to Minot later that year.

Lenore had a heart of compassion and service. She wanted to be a nurse from a very early age. Lenore graduated from Trinity School of Nursing in 1952, earning her RN. Following graduation, she worked for Trinity Hospital for one year. She worked as a clinic nurse at Medical Arts Clinic for many years, then worked as an operating room nurse at Trinity Hospital for several years. After a hiatus to enjoy her hobbies and service work while continuing to assist on the farm, she went to Minot State University to meet the requirements to return to nursing. She continued her nursing career, serving patients at Trinity Hospital until her retirement in 1996.

On June 24, 1953, she married the love of her life, Laurence Scheresky, in Loyalton, SD. Together they built a life on their family farm in Des Lacs, where they lived in the Rolling Green and Des Lacs Township area. The family farm continues through their son Barry and daughter-in-law Ruth. Throughout her life, she was deeply involved in her community. She served as an assessor for Rolling Green Township Board and was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was active in the Association of Operating Room Nurses, the North Dakota Farm Bureau, where she held various county offices, the North Central Human Services Advisory Board, and the North Dakota Cow Bells Auxiliary.

Lenore found great joy in gardening, sewing, embroidery, reading, completing crossword puzzles, and traveling. She treasured time spent with her family and friends and will be remembered for her strong work ethic and dedication to serving others.

She is survived by her children: Katherine (Raymond) Kopp of Des Lacs, ND; Kari (Ed) Shea of Dickinson, ND; Kimberly Danner of Arlington, NE; and Barry (Ruth) Scheresky of Des Lacs, ND; Grandchildren: Ann (Wyatt) Olson of Des Lacs; Amanda (Jim Pearson) of Donnybrook; James Danner of Williston; Kara (Cody) Perry of Des Lacs; Jacob (Morgan) Scheresky of Omaha, NE; David Scheresky of Des Lacs. Great Grandchildren: Lane, Westin and Oliver of Des Lacs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Roy Hines, and son in law, James Danner.

Memorials are preferred to the Great Plains Food Bank.

Family Funeral Home, Minot. Burial will take place at Rolling Green Cemetery, Des Lacs, ND.
