Kathryn Swanson, 94, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Souris Valley Care Center, Velva.
Kathryn Louise Hauge was born October 18, 1931, the daughter of Arnold Hauge and Tracey (Snyder) Hauge in Minot. Kathryn was raised on the family farm in Minot. She graduated from Minot High School in 1949.
She worked at the 76 Cafe and grocery store, Bray's Cleaners, R. Allens and The Yarn Shop.
Kathryn married Richard Swanson on November 10, 1951, at Bethany Lutheran Church. Together they made their home in Minot and were blessed with four sons, Lannie, Randy, Mark, and Kent. Richard sadly passed away on March 1, 2014.
Kathryn was a lifetime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, where she once taught Sunday School and Bible School. She belonged to a circle, was a member of the Altar Guild and served on the funeral lunch committee.
Kathryn is survived by her sons, Lannie (Janet) Swanson, Randy Swanson, Mark (Patty) Swanson; daughter-in-law, Darla Swanson; grandchildren, Brue Swanson, Tori (Jake) Lombard, Zane Swanson, Lee (Sarah) Swanson, Colin Swanson, Paul (Nikki) Swanson, Allison (Jordan) Taylor; step-grandchildren, Janell Hamberger, Rick (Teri) Hamberger; great-grandchildren, Brynn Swanson, Scarlet Lombord, Eli Swanson, Oscar Swanson; step-great-grandchildren: Evan Hamberger and Emily Hamberger; sister, Carolyn Christman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Richard; son, Kent Swanson; granddaughter, Amy Swanson; brothers, Douglas (Joan) Hauge and Gary (Vivian) Hauge; brother-in-law, Phillip Christman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral: Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
