Jeffrey Michael Berdahl, 51 of Rugby died Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota. He was born on April 27, 1975 to Diane Ripplinger and Dennis Muechel in Rugby, North Dakota.

Jeff, always known as Buckwheat was raised in Rugby, began school in Rugby and graduated the class of 1994 from Rugby High School. Jeff “Buckwheat” is survived by his mother, Diane Berdahl of Fargo, sisters, Barb (Ron) Wangler of Sabin, Minnesota and Karen (John) Lucy of Kenmare; nieces, Shawnie (Phil) Hinson of Fargo, Kirsten (Adam) Schaf of Bismarck and Kortni Medlang of Kenmare; nephews, Tim and Jack Lucy; great nieces, Arabelle and Emersyn Hinson; his cousin who he considered a brother, Daryl Sollin; other relatives and many many good friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 10 at the Rugby Armory with burial to follow at the Persilla Watts Cemetery followed by lunch and fellowship at the Rugby Eagle’s Club in Rugby on highway 2.

Please bring your cars and motorcycles to honor Buckwheat as we take him to the cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service and sharing of memories beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby.
