Jeanette Florence Marie Mapes, 94, Minot, died Monday, July 6, 2026 in a Minot nursing home.
Jeanette was born on August 11, 1931 in Bronx, NY, the only child of Dominic and Claire (Visconti) Guerriero. She was raised, educated and graduated from St. Simon Stock High School in Bronx, NY in 1948.
Jeanette was blessed to be united in marriage to Cletus Mapes on November 16, 1952. They made their home in Greenwood Lake, NY. She was an administrative assistant for Orange County Department of Mental Health from 1972 until 1983. They moved to New Jersey in 1983. She then worked part-time as a bookkeeper in Neptune, NJ at Gelco Kitchens. In 1990, Jeanette and Cletus moved to Minot to be closer to their grandchildren. Cletus passed away on March 20, 2001.
Jeanette was a member of the St. Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church, Confraternity of Christian Women, Catholic Daughters, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was the Food Pantry Coordinator at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot.
Jeanette loved to cook and read.
Jeanette was blessed to have in her life her daughter, Judith Anne (Lawrence), Fullington of Slate Hill, NY, her son Stephen Mark (RaeLynn) Mapes of Minot, her grandchildren, Jessica Jamous, Carissa, Angelocci, Dominic (Samantha) Mapes, great granddaughters Margo Vera and Wrenley Livonne. Grandson William (Kelly) Aitchison, great granddaughter Jasimine Bassett, great grandsons Tristan Joannou and George Aitchison, and two great-great granddaughters, Serenity and Naomi Bassett. Wonderful relatives and friends throughout her life. Blessed to love and be loved and forgiven by God, allowed to serve Him and by his grace to go home to Him.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 48 years and her son-in-law Lawrence.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Little Flower Church, Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry, or an organization of the donor's choice.
