Eddy Kling

July 8, 1952-May 11, 2026

Kenmare

Eddy Kling, 73, Kenmare, ND passed away on Monday, May 11th, 2026 in a Minot Hospital.

Eddy Martin Kling was born on July 8, 1952, a son of Clifford and Pearl (Michel) Kling, in Minot, ND. Eddy was raised on the Michel farm near Donnybrook, and was educated in Kenmare, graduating in 1970. After graduation, Eddy moved to Colorado in pursuit of employment.

On February 4, 1971, Eddy enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Expert M16, and the Sharpshooter 45 Caliber. He was honorably discharged on December 12, 1972.

Following his discharge, Eddy returned to work in Colorado. He worked at Coors and did construction. He then went to work for Continental Airlines as a flight attendant and flew all over the world, which led to working in the car rental sector for a number of years.

Eddy was an avid fisherman. He carried a fishing pole, or five, in every vehicle, just in case he ran across some water. We always had lots of fresh fish and we will miss that, too. He was always willing to help anyone in need and especially enjoyed sharing his love of fishing.

Eddy collected many things that, unfortunately, he was not able to take with him. We expect his absence to be felt among the auction community.

He was a member of the Donnybrook American Legion Clarence McCormack Post #195 and would proudly assist with military honors whenever possible.

Eddy is survived by: sister, Emily Seime; nieces and nephews: Trevor (Becky) Seime, Tressa (Paul) Guth, and Trianna Sabo; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; 5 great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and several relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carol (Kling) Rasmusson, and a brother-in-law, Duane Seime.

A celebration of Eddy’s life will take place on July 18th, 2026, at 2 p.m., at the Memorial Hall in Kenmare, ND. Everyone is welcome.

Burial at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, in Mandan, ND at a later date.
