Minot
Dwight G. Johnson, age 71, of Williston passed away of natural causes on July 18, 2026 at his home. A memorial service will be held July 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Minot with burial at Rosehill Cemetery in Minot.
Dwight was born June 25, 1955 in Kenmare, ND to Fred and Betty (Popinga) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church in Tolley, ND. He graduated from Carpio High School in 1973 and from ND State School of Science in 1975. He was employed as a mail carrier in Williston for over 30 years, retiring in 2013.
His friends and classmates recall his sense of humor, his laugh, and care and concern for others, especially his family. He kept his faith in God close to his heart, always trusting in God.
Dwight is survived by: mother, Betty Johnson of Minot; sister Pauline Luther of Franklin, NC; brothers, Brian (Renee), Minot, Tim (Kathy), Hazen, and Perry (Kim), Donnybrook, several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and multiple cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Fred Johnson, brother-in-law Dennis Luther, and grandparents Wilma and Emerald Johnson, and Grace and Daniel Popinga.
