Minot
David Anthony Caldwell, 57, Minot passed away July 9, 2026, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. David was born on August 4, 1968, in Louisville, Kentucky, a son of Robert Eugene Caldwell and Hazel Mae Caldwell (Cecil).
Dave was an avid sports fan, having played football and basketball. He attended the University of Kentucky and was currently attending Minot State University. Dave joined a band and spent several years traveling the country playing. He met his wife, Tammy, while playing in Minot, ND. After meeting Tammy, they made their home in Minot. Dave played in local bands, including Static Radio, for many years until retiring. He worked at Minot Daily News for 17 years as a reporter and a paginator and then Somerset Court as a Director. For the last 6 years he has worked at Minot Health and Rehab, currently Northern Lights Rehab and Long-Term Care.
Dave loved music and was active in the local music scene. He loved working with the elderly. He was a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cincinnati Reds, University of Kentucky Wildcats and professional wrestling. Being Pappy to his grandkids was the greatest joy in his life. He loved a good dad joke and was always smiling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Caldwell; sons, Brad Spencer (Megan) and Justin Caldwell; daughter, Kyrie Caldwell; grandsons, Andrew Howard, Chandler Spencer, Parker Spencer ; granddaughters, Sophiah Cavanaugh, Ameliah Spencer, Aurorah Spencer; mother, Hazel Caldwell; brother Robert Caldwell Jr, many nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Eugene Caldwell SR.
Visitation: Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home.
Service: Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, at 1:30pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home.
Burial: Burial will follow the funeral service in Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery.
