Wayne Dutenhafer, 70, Minot, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Wayne Alan Dutenhafer was born on August 11, 1955, a son of Jack and Delores (Hager) Dutenhafer in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1973.
On April 25, 1975, Wayne was united in marriage to Linda Colleen Lemon. They made their home in Minot, where Wayne worked as a Lab Technician for the City of Minot from 1976 until his retirement in February of 2009. While Wayne enjoyed living retirement life, his strong work ethic brought him back to employment with the City of Minot, where he was employed until his untimely passing.
He enjoyed time spent at his lake cabin at Strawberry Lake where he would fish, pull the children with the boat while they skied and tubed and visit with family and friends. His family was very important to him, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry and woodworking. Wayne was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and friend and will be missed by all that knew him.
Wayne was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Wayne is survived by his two sons: Chad (Heather) Dutenhafer, Mandan, ND, Craig (Miranda) Dutenhafer, Minot; five grandchildren: Brenna, Max, Logan, Peyton, and Tyler; three brothers, Jason Dutenhafer, Terry (Stephanie) Dutenhafer, Bruce Dutenhafer; sister, Peggy Prough; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents, Jack and Delores Dutenhafer; sister, Mary Jo Dutenhafer and in-laws, Ray and Dorraine Lemon
Visitation: Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Friday, June 26, 2026, at 6pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
