Timothy Delzer

Sept. 13, 1952-June 13, 2026

Douglas

Timothy Delzer, 73, Douglas, died Saturday, June 13, 2026 in a Fargo hospice home.

Timothy Earl Delzer was born September 13, 1952 to Christ and Laina (Roberts) Delzer and a twin to Thomas. He attended grade school at Douglas Township 2 through seventh grade, graduating from Garrison High School in 1971. While in high school, he met the love of his life Linda Hansen. While attending college at NDSU, he was drafted into the US Army as one of the last draftees. He did his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, his AIT at Fort Sam Houston, TX and the rest of his service at Fort Bragg, NC where he was honorably discharged in 1974.

Tim and Linda were married January 5, 1974 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Douglas, ND and spent the first eleven months of marriage in Spring Lake, NC. They returned to Douglas and Tim spent the next few years doing odd jobs until he decided to farm and added a herd of milk cows, eventually switching to beef cattle (His favorite parts were picking rocks and hauling manure).

Tim was a gentle, loving man who loved farming, gardening, painting barn quilts, doing yard art, playing cards and fishing. Tim and Linda were known for never staying home – the backroads to visit every city in ND, traveling with their siblings or cruising with friends, the wheels never cooled off. He thought FaceTime was great as he got to see his grandkids grow up. Together they raised three wonderful sons Russell (Jaime Goodyke) of Crookston, MN, Bradley “Brad” (Sonja Paulson) of Providence, RI, Matthew “Matt” (Angelica Schwartz) of Rome, GA, and five grandchildren Katelyn, Aiden, Azalea “Zelly”, Marius and Sigmund Delzer.

Tim was a 4-H leader, member of the Douglas Jaycees, Holy Cross Catholic Church until its closure then St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Douglas Township Board, Douglas Nifty 50’s and Nochle Heads pinochle group.

Tim is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers Dave (Linda), Tom (Merna) and Jeff, sisters Phyllis (Dean), Donna, and Doris (Steve), brothers-in-law Don Weninger, and Randy (Salome) Hansen along with several cousins nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Darlene Delzer, sister Carolyn Delzer Weninger, father- and mother-in-law Mervyn and Bonnie Hansen, brothers-in-law Mike Jones, James Hansen, Donald Hansen, sister-in-law Gail Delzer and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
