Neil Moore, 45, Minot, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026 in a Minneapolis hospital after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife Jenn by his side.

Neil was born on April 15, 1981, in Minot, North Dakota to Jerry and Melanie (Eslinger) Moore. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1999. He continued his education at Minot State University, where he earned Bachelor Degrees in both Finance and Accounting in 2004.

Neil’s degrees led him to a 28-year career with Minot Public Schools, which started as an assistant after his Junior year of high school in the Business Office. After college he moved up to the Payroll Clerk and was currently working as the Payroll Specialist. Neil truly loved his job and all the people that he worked with.

Neil met the love of his life, Jenn, and they were united in marriage on June 22, 2018. Their great love was evident to all that knew them. They enjoyed life together very much. Road trips, concerts, sports events, movies, theater, community events, walking their dog, Pearl and just hanging out. They completed each other.

Beyond his professional life, Neil was an active participant in local organizations such as the Minot Optimist Club and the Big Spenders Club, where he served as treasurer for both organizations for many years. He was also currently serving as President for the Minot Public School Credit Union Board until his health forced him to step down.

Neil absolutely loved sports. NFL, NHL, NBA and NASCAR. Attending games and races, watching the events on tv and reading sports news. He enjoyed many summer nights at Nodak Speedway. Winter sports always included Minot State Beaver Hockey and Basketball.

Neil will be remembered for his fierce love of his family and friends. He had a quiet presence that he shared with all who were blessed to be in his life including his four legged companion Pearl. He had a great sense of humor. Neil was loyal, honest, responsible and just an all around lovable guy. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Neil is survived by his loving Wife, Jenn, Minot; Mother, Melanie Moore, Minot; Father-in-law, John (Alisa) Lisecki, Port Huron, MI; Mother-in-law, Susan Lisecki, South Lyon, MI; Brothers, Jeremy (Leah) Moore, West Fargo, ND, Jarrod (Ericka) Moore, Reyno, AR; Jessie Moore, Hoxie, AR; Sister-in-law, Nicole (Tim) Neumann, Oak Park, MI; his Brother-in-law, Justin (Chris Kubala) Ceckowski, Fitchburg, WI along with numerous uncles and aunt including Randy (Penny) Moore, Russellville, AR.

Neil was preceded in death by his Father, Grandparents Jerry and Marilyn Moore and Curtis and Marian Eslinger and Uncle Bryce Eslinger.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Visitation: Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the Trinity Foundation or to the Minot State Men’s Beaver Hockey Program.
