Gladys Hager, 86 of Harvey died Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey, North Dakota.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Selz, North Dakota. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday June 14, 2026, with a prayer service following at 7 p.m. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Selz. Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, N.D.
Gladys was born on June 15, 1939 in a farmhouse near Anamoose, N.D. and was delivered by a midwife. She was the daughter of Joe and Katherine (Kroll) Vetter. Gladys attended Sampson Country School through the 8th grade. Gladys was the oldest, so she was her dad’s helper. She cut hay, drove tractor and hauled grain.
Gladys married Linus Hager on September 28, 1959 in Harvey. They bought the Hager family farm. Gladys worked with Linus side by her side and helped him farm. She drove tractor, combine and hauled the grain. In February of 2005 they moved to Harvey and bought a house.
Gladys enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans and gave them away as gifts. Gladys was a member of the Christian Mothers and the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Selz, N.D.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Linus; one brother Steve (Linda) Vetter of Selz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Sally Seefeld, Darlene Axtman.
