Sharon Schestler, 87, Minot/Burlington, died Friday, May 1, 2026, in a Minot hospital surrounded by her family.
Sharon Kathryn Doyle was born March 2, 1939, at her grandparent’s home in Minot to Lawrence and Helen (Christianson) Doyle. She was raised and educated in Minot, ND. She graduated from high school in 1957.
Sharon went on to become an X-ray Technician. Sharon was united in marriage to Rudolph (Jon) Schestler, January 7, 1961 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. They had six children.
Sharon loved to bake, everyone really loved her homemade buns. In later years, Chex mix, pretzels, puff caramel corn and hot crackers were among her favorites to make for all the grandchildren for Christmas.
Sharon enjoyed needle work, making dish towels as gifts. Every grandchild received a homemade quilt from their Grandma Sharon for graduation and many of her great grandchildren received a homemade baby blanket.
Sharon had four sisters, Patti, Phyllis, Marvel, Lorna and a brother, Larry Jim.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jon; children: Helen (Glen) Hatlestad, Minot; Chuck (Pam) Schestler, Minot; Andrew (Lisa) Schestler, Velva; Leonard (Lynnette) Schestler, Minot; Jennifer (Clint) Bergan, Mandan and Sarah (Lyn) Penn, Valdosta, GA; grandchildren: James, Christopher (Jessica), Kristofer (Bridgette), Trista, Austin (Shauna), Dylan (Tierrany), Shane (Amanda), Curtis (Lindsey), Ben (Katie), Andrew (Erin), Lexi, Ashlyn, Hannah, Samara, and Alayna; great-grandchildren: Tiauna, Taya, Jack, Roslyn, Cameron, Briar, Braylee, Taya, Ryah, Avyn, Jais, Jayden, Brock, Gemma, Kai, Preston, Nicholai, Kaden, Ava, and Evangeline.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Larry Jim Doyle, sister Phyllis Doyle, father-in-law and mother-in-law Leon and Madge Power, and brother-in-law Leon Power, Jr.

Visitation: Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
