JoAnn Johnson, the daughter of Ed and Helen (Mosser) Hilzendager was born on August 21, 1949 in Rugby, North Dakota. She died peacefully under the care of her family and hospice on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at her home in Rugby. JoAnn met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Johnson and the two were united in marriage on February 25, 1972 in Rugby. JoAnn is survived by her children, Travis (Nikki) Johnson of Grand Forks, Trent (Mindy) Johnson of Rugby, Tanner Johnson of Rugby and Tasha (Mitch) Kotrba of Warren, Minnesota; grandchildren; great grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Esther) Hilzendager of Dazey, Shirley (Dick) Blomster of Rugby and Renae (Dean) Lenertz of Bismarck. The Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 1 at First Lutheran Church in Rugby burial later at the Persilla Watts Cemetery in Rugby. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Monday.
