Arlene was born on May 27th, 1940, to Arthur J Lunde and Lila Mae Lunde at her Aunt Mabel Kirby’s home which was around 10 miles east of Mohall and was their eldest child. She attended school at the Renville Township School for grades 1-8 and graduated from Mohall High School in 1958.
In 1971 Arlene met her future husband Lowell (Pete) R. McLean who owned and operated Northern Trophy and Engraving, and they were married at First Lutheran Church in Minot on November 16th, 1974.
In August of 1986 Arlene, Pete, and their two sons David and Cory moved to Mesa, AZ and she lived there until her passing on May 2nd of 2026.
Arlene worked as a bookkeeper and CPA throughout her career and dedicated her time to the Lutheran church as a Sunday School Teacher, she also participated in Choir, Social Ministry activities, Bible Study groups, and served as a Recorder for the church nurses as well. Later in life she volunteered at the Senior Gift Shop at the Red Mountain Multigenerational Center.
Arlene is survived by her husband Lowell (Pete) Richard McLean and her two sons: David Eugene McLean and Cory Daniel McLean. Her siblings Gary Lunde and his wife Barbara, Lee Lunde and his wife Ann, Marsha Lunde, and Anita Newgard along with her Sister-in-law Bonnie Lunde and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur J Lunde and Lila Mae (Rice) Lunde, her brother Monte Lunde, her niece Cynthia Lunde, her nephew Andrew (AJ) Lunde as well as her brother-in-law Tim Newgard.
Memorial services will be held at 11am on 5/21/26 at Victory Lutheran Church in Mesa, and later in Minot, ND at First Lutheran Church on 5/28/26 at 11am, with the interment to take place afterwards at the Harder Cemetery at Renville Corners (Renville Township) around 10 miles east of Mohall, ND.
