Anna Marie Huesers, 97, Plymouth, MN, formerly of Minot and Alkabo, ND, died on January 5, 2026, in a Plymouth transitional care unit.

Anna Marie was born on March 18, 1928, to Bjorn “Ben” Sabo and Klara (Haga) Sabo near Alkabo, North Dakota. She was raised on a farm near Alkabo and educated in Alkabo until 1944, attending Crosby High School for a year and her senior year at Oak Grove High School, Fargo, ND, graduating in the Class of 1946.

Anna Marie taught in a one-room school near Alkabo for two years after high school graduation. She then attended Augsburg College for a year before changing to Minot Teachers College where she earned a standard teaching certificate. She then taught in Carrington, ND, for two years before teaching in Crosby, ND, until her marriage to Lloyd B. Huesers at Writing Rock Lutheran Church, Alkabo, ND, in 1959. They made their home in Grand Forks and Walhalla, ND, prior to moving to Minot, ND, in 1964. Anna Marie sold Tupperware in Minot before beginning her years as a substitute teacher. Anna Marie was employed by H&R Block as a tax preparer and tax instructor from 1979, retiring in 1991. Lloyd was a high school science teacher for Minot Public Schools and during his career was a member of the Minot Park Board for years. They moved to Plymouth, MN, in 2000. Lloyd passed away in 2001. Anna Marie continued to reside in Plymouth, MN, until her passing.

Anna Marie was a member of Grace Free Lutheran Church of Maple Grove, MN. Her faith in Jesus as Savior was something she loved to share through life experience testimony. Her face would shine with the joy of the Lord. Her life was not without sorrows, but she brought them to Jesus and He gave her faith, joy, love… She was a member of Sons of Norway, Women of the West Quilting Club, Prairie Quilters, and Vestlandslaget. She also was a Sunday School teacher, Luther League advisor, and was involved with 4-H, Christian Women’s Club, First Lutheran Church Circle, Women’s Missionary Fellowship, and other groups during her life. Anna Marie enjoyed quilting, reading, genealogy, baking, traveling, entertaining friends and family, and being a mom.

Anna Marie is survived by her daughter, Klara M. Huesers, of Plymouth, MN. Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters Constance Joy Huesers and Christine L. Huesers, and brother Martin O. Sabo.

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials are preferred to the AFLC Bible School, Scandinavian Heritage Assn or Samaritan’s Purse or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
