Arlen Larson, 74, Willow City died peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026 in a Minot hospital with his wife at his side.

Arlen Martin Larson was born on September 27, 1951 in Bottineau, ND to Loys and Alice (Solberg) Larson. He was raised on a farm near Willow City, attended a country school and attended and graduated from Willow City High School in 1970. Arlen served in the North Dakota Army National Guard from 1971-1972.

Arlen was proud to be a third-generation farmer. As a young adult he assisted his father and uncle, Enger Larson, with the operation of their farms. Arlen and C. Shelli Hoffert were united in marriage on July 26, 1986 in Bottineau. They made their home on a farm near Willow City and raised small grains and cattle. Arlen retired from farming in 2004.

Arlen was a longtime supervisor for the Wellington Township Board and especially enjoyed working in his shop, reading and watching television programs about history.

Arlen is survived by his wife of 39 years Shelli; brothers: Loren of Rugby and Neilan (Sharol) of Jamestown; niece: Jill (Brent) Engbrecht; nephew: Jason Larson and in-laws: Maury Hoffert, Kay (John) Daugherty, Ann (Dennis) Niess and Eve (Phil) Martin.

Graveside Service: May 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Willow City Memorial Cemetery.
