Jerald M. Clott, 98, Minot, died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in a Velva Care facility.
Jerald Marvin Clott was born May 1, 1927, the son of Chester and Ellen (Botz) Clott in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot, where he graduated from Minot High School.
In 1944, Jerald enlisted into the United States Navy at the age of 17. He proudly served in the Pacific and was honorably discharged in 1946.

Following his discharge, in October of 1946, he started as a call boy (they would call crews) on the Great Northern Railroad and later becoming a clerk. In 1975, he moved to St. Paul, MN, when he was promoted to become a supervisor of a new computerized system of rail cars, he lived there until 1977. At that time, he moved to Denver, CO, where he was promoted to Yard Office Supervisor. He retired from that position in 1982 and returned to Minot.
Jerald was united in marriage to Dorothy Johnson on September 13, 1948. Dorothy sadly passed away July 19, 1984.
His passion was restoring antique cars. In his later year, he was known as the “Model T Man”. He restored seventeen Model T’s, ten Metropolitans, and over forty antique cars. In 1969, he founded the Minot Chapter of Antique Car Club of America. The requirement was to have thirteen members to form a club. His goal was to earn First Class in the AACA for his restoration which he did when he won the Junior Award in 1987, and the Senior Award in 1988 for his 1938 Chevy. He was a judge in the Antique Automobile Club of American nineteen times, judging various locations in PA, CO, IA, MT, MN, ND, and Canada.
Jerald married Joan Joyce on October 29, 1984. She sadly passed away on February 14, 2010.
He enjoyed his last few years living at The View. Jerry enjoyed cards and even in his waning years he loved to beat everyone in Skip- Bo and occasionally win a little in Black Jack.
His loving family includes:
His sons, Marv (Darryle) Clott and Brad (Cheryl) Clott; Grandchildren, Tera Clott, Aaron (Christine) Clott;
Great-grandchildren, Kylie, Abby, Aydryen, and Bailey; Great-great grandson, Briar;
Brother, Ron Clott; Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
