David Bischof

David Bischof

Aug. 23, 1954-March 2, 2026

Minot

David John Bischof, 71, of Minot, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Arizona where he and his beloved wife, Carolyn, spent their winters. Summers were spent at their lake home in Van Hook, where he cherished time with family and friends and enjoyed the simple pleasures of lake life.

David was born on August 23, 1954, in Minot, ND, to George Sr. and Margarete (Schatz) Bischof. He was the youngest of five sons, with older brothers Victor (Rose), Michael (Linda), Andrew (Mary), and George Jr. (Carolyn). The Bischof boys shared a special bond and connection and were always there for one another.

David attended school in Karlsruhe, ND where he gained lifelong friendships with so many great people. He began his career with Feist Construction before moving on to Craft Builders where his craftmanship and eye for detail made him one of the best finishers around. After his years as a carpenter, David had the opportunity to work alongside his sons at Connole and Sommerville which was something that meant a great deal to him. His talent, hard work, and quiet dedication were admired by all who worked with him over the years.

David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Carolyn Mosser, on July 1, 1978. David kept Carolyn close to his side, finding in her a constant source of comfort and love. They built a life filled with love, family, and many cherished memories. Together they raised two sons, Derek (Nicole) and Duran (Breann), and were blessed with three grandchildren: Logan (Miranda), Lani, and Archie. David took immense pride in his family and found great joy in watching his grandchildren grow. He also shared a special bond with the family dogs, Murphy and Presley, who seemed to sense his calm and gentle nature.

David was a man of few words, but when he spoke, he meant it. He had a great sense of humor that brough out his one-of-a-kind chuckle. He enjoyed fishing outings with Derek, relaxing at the lake, cozying up on the couch to watch TV, and visiting Duran’s place to enjoy his yard and see the various projects he was working on.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Victor, Michael, and Andrew.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his sons, Derek (Nicole) and Duran (Breann); and his cherished grandchildren, Logan (Miranda), Lani, and Archie; his brother, George (Carolyn); In-laws: Rose Bischof, Linda Bischof, Mary Bischof, Theresa (Gary) Diebert, Bernadette (Tom) Gibson, Bill Mosser, John (Linda) Mosser, and Bob (Sue) Mosser; He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were like family.
