Archie Don Huizenga, age 71, passed away on February 23, 2026, at his Dallas, TX, home.

Born in Minot, North Dakota, he grew up at the family farm, where he returned annually to help with harvest. He loved telling stories of his time on the farm. He attended Tatman Township School and Glenburn Public School, and graduated from Minot State University with degrees in geology and earth science. He later obtained his Master’s Certificate in Applied Project Management through Villanova University (2003) and Master’s Degree of Science in Management through Colorado Technical University (2006). He was proud of the work he performed for The Boeing Company over a 38 year career. Boeing moved him to Dallas in the late 90’s, where he met his beloved Rebecca and they married in 2007. His passion included barbecuing and cooking in large quantities for his family and friends. He loved playing the Buffalo’s gaming machines at Del Jr’s (Glenburn, ND) and at Lucky Strike (Minot, ND), fishing, and visiting with friends. Archie fought a long and hard battle against pancreatic cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardis and Robert Huizenga, and brother, Bob Huizenga.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; Sisters: Sandi Foreman (Dallas), Bonnie Iverson (Gene, Minot) and Barb Fossen (Rod, Minot); Sister-in-law Sharon Huizenga (Minot) and sister-inlaw/brother-in-law Melinda and Harold Kessler (Dallas); Former step-children: Andy Snider, Billy Snider and Kristi Snider Rice. Also, an uncle, Harry Huizenga (Golden, CO), seven nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethany Christian Church, Dallas, TX, on March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. An additional Celebration of Life will be planned for the summer in Minot, ND.
