Anne Erickson

Jan. 31, 1938-March 21, 2026

Waconia, Minn.

Anne Marie Erickson (Edmunds), 88, passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Anne was born on January 31, 1938, on a farm near Tolley, North Dakota, to Howard and Lillian Edmunds. As an only child growing up on the family farm, she learned early the values of hard work, independence, and quiet resilience that guided her throughout her life. She graduated from Tolley High School in 1956 and from Minot State College in 1960.

Anne began her career as an English teacher in Stanley, North Dakota, where she met the love of her life, Franklin Erickson. They were married in 1962 and made their home in New Rockford, where Anne continued teaching until her retirement in 2000. She was a dedicated educator who cared deeply about her students and made a lasting impact not only through her teaching, but through her love of the arts as a director of high school plays and yearbook.

Above all, Anne was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife to Franklin for nearly 64 years and a steady, caring presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind her husband, Franklin Erickson; her children, Scott Erickson; Bruce Erickson, and his wife Debbie; Renee Lang and her husband Brian; and Ruth Erickson and her husband David Kuwada; and her grandchildren, Sydney Lang and Samantha Lang.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lillian Edmunds, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws.

Anne found happiness in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles, and reading, and she valued time spent with family above all else, whether playing Whist or gathering together for holidays. She was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in New Rockford, where she was part of a close and supportive community.

In 2023, Anne moved to Waconia, Minnesota, to be closer to family, continuing to share in their lives in her later years.
