Lloyd D. Johnson, age 99 of Bottineau, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at a Bottineau hospital. His funeral will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the Bottineau Fire Department or the Bottineau Park Board.

Lloyd D. Johnson, a son of Rosgard and Mary (Hagen) Johnson, was born on July 24, 1926 on the family farm near Kramer. He was raised there and graduated from Kramer High School in 1944. After high school, he went to work on his uncle’s farm. On January 29, 1950, he married Mabel Sather at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bottineau. They made their home in Bottineau and worked as a carpenter for Newbergers. In 1966, he began working for the US Postal Service in Bottineau. Lloyd retired from the Post Office in 1989. Mabel passed away on February 8, 1996.

Lloyd was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, and he served on the Bottineau Park Board and the Bottineau Fire Department for 50 years. Lloyd was an avid hunter and loved farming.

He is survived by 3 sons, Ron and his wife Carla of Bottineau, Ken and his wife Toni of Minot and Scott and his wife Nora of Bottineau; 7 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; sister, Ella Faulkner of Yakima, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rickie, sisters, Oveda Eman. Mildred Geizler and Bernice Wall.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
