Kathleen Loretta (Peterson) Raap, 76, Tolley, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at Trinity Health Hospital in Minot, following complications from a stroke.

Lovingly known as “Kathy,” she was born May 13, 1949, in Kenmare, to Donald and Geraldine (Keith) Peterson. She was raised in rural Tolley and attended school in Tolley, graduating in 1967. Kathy furthered her education by attending Minot State College for two years. Following college, she worked at the State Bank of Kenmare for two years.

Kathy was united in marriage to Donald “Donny” Raap, on July 24, 1970, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tolley. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Tolley and farmed in Roosevelt Township, Renville County. Together, they were blessed with three sons: Chad, Shawn, and Troy.

A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Kathy also enjoyed teaching Sunday School, helping with Sunday School music, and singing in the church choir. She served as a relief clerk at the Tolley Post Office for nine years. After her three sons were grown, she worked as a paraeducator at Mohall Public School, where she found great joy working with children.

Kathy’s life was dedicated to God and her family. She also enjoyed music, flowers, cooking, decorating, and traveling–especially trips and flights with her girlfriends. Her most precious flowers in the garden of life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To God be all the glory.
