Jabin Alexander Miller, 22, of Berthold, North Dakota, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, near Berthold.
Jabin was born on July 4, 2003, in Minot, North Dakota, to Robert Ehlers and Zonna Miller. From the very beginning, Jabin had a way of lighting up a room. He carried a golden smile that stayed with him throughout his life–one that made people feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. It was the kind of smile you didn’t forget.
He was raised in the Minot area and attended Roosevelt Elementary School, Sawyer Elementary School, and Erik Ramstad Middle School. In 2020, Jabin and his family moved to Berthold, where he later graduated from Berthold High School in 2023. During high school, Jabin discovered his love for music and taught himself to play the guitar–a gift that became another way he expressed his heart and creativity. He appreciated all kinds of music and enjoyed sharing that love with others.
Jabin pursued a career in the electrical trade, attending the Burdick Job Corps, where he began training to become an electrician. He continued advanced electrical training in Florida.
At the time of his passing, Jabin was working as an Electrical Apprentice with the IBEW Local 714 in Minot and was diligently working toward earning his Journeyman’s License. He was proud of his work and took his future seriously, even while maintaining his easygoing nature.
Jabin was a member of Berthold Baptist Church and had a strong faith. He enjoyed gaming–especially playing Fortnite and Overwatch–and was well known among family and friends for a phrase that became legendary in the household. Whenever someone asked Jabin to do something or answer a question, he would smile and say, “After this match.” It became part of who he was–a reminder to slow down, enjoy the moment, and laugh together.
Jabin loved his siblings deeply and cherished time with his family. Some of his favorite memories were made at his Grandma and Grandpa’s house in Sawyer, especially during holidays and overnight visits. Those moments of togetherness, laughter, and love meant the world to him.
Jabin was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. He was the kind of person everyone loved–kindhearted, patient, and genuine. His presence brought comfort, his laughter brought joy, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.
Though our hearts are broken, we hold onto hope. When we think of Jabin’s familiar words, we are reminded of the promise we cling to now: we will all see him again–after this match.
Jabin is survived by his parents, Robert and Zonna; his siblings, Zailey, Azele, Braxton, and Cruz; his maternal grandparents(DeAnna and Raymond Miller);; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and grandfather (Kathy and Jim Ehlers)
