Minot
Delores Nichols (Schiff) passed away on Sunday, January 18th, 2026 at Trinity Hospital in Minot with her daughter, Connie, by her side.
Delores was born February 7, 1937 in Minot to Joseph and Margaret Schiff. She attended The Sacred Heart Girls Academy where she graduated in 1955. Delores married Alfred Nichols on September 27, 1955 and welcomed their only child, Connie, on February 23 of 1960. While her daughter was in school, she worked at Sears & The Rolling Pin of Minot. Delores spent many days helping in her daughter’s classroom growing up.
Delores adored all of her grandchildren and was known to be at every game possible and to help with any and all school projects. She was an expert at cake making and decorating and enjoyed teaching her granddaughter, Miranda, how to make frosting look like lace. Delores insisted on caring for her great-grandkids instead of her grandson, Brandon, having to pay for childcare. She had many lengthy conversations with her grandson, Ashton, about the Minnesota Twins and what happened in the World Series every year. Delores and Alfred would take the grandkids camping every summer and to Medora to see the musical. She enjoyed attending services at Our Lady of Grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Phyllis (John) Selzler, Viola (Roy) Lemioux, Judy (Marvin) Johnson, and Beatrice (Leon) Bistodeau; brothers, Robert (Eleanor), Joseph Jr., Daniel (Doris), and Jerome; sister in-law Patricia.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred; daughter, Connie (Larrel Enander); grandchildren, Miranda Lockwood, Brandon (Jessie), Ashton (Samantha), Dylan, 11 great grandchildren; sister, Sally (Butch) Bauer; brothers George (Joyce), Jim, LeRoy (Shari); & countless nieces & nephews.
