Deborah Frey, 74, Minot, ND, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, in her home.

Deborah Kay Erickson was born May 29, 1951, the daughter of Vernon and Olive (Johnson) Erickson, in Rolette. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School where she met Kenneth Owen Frey. Following high school, she attended Minot State University.

She married Ken on June 12, 1970, at Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot. They made their home in Minot and were blessed with four sons, Jason, Jared, Justin, and Jesse. Having all her son’s names starting with “J” she greatly struggled with saying the right name. Deb was a devoted stay at home mom for 20 years, while also babysitting her relative’s children as well.

Deb’s caring nature extended beyond her family. She spent the next 20 years working as a CNA at ManorCare and Brentmoor.

When Deb’s health no longer allowed her to care for herself, her son, Justin, took on the responsibility of caring for her.

Deb loved watching comedies, Days of Our Lives, and Dr. Phil.

Her loving family includes: children, Jason Frey, Jared (Julie) Frey, Justin Frey, Jesse (Katelin) Frey; grandchildren, Jayden Frey, Evan Frey; brother, Garland (Sue) Erickson; sister, Kimberly (Darrell) Eisenzimmer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Celebration: Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.
