Andrew Tossett, 94, Minot, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, in his home.

Andrew Ross Tossett was born April 15, 1931, the son of Andrew and Rose (Brown) Tossett, in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Lansford, ND, graduating from high school in 1949.

After high school, Andrew enlisted in the United States Navy on January 15, 1951. He proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged on December 15, 1954.

Upon returning from the Navy, Andrew furthered his education by attending Minot State University. After graduation, his mother Rose, who at the time was the clerk of Ward Co. District Court, encouraged him to pursue law school. Andrew earned his law degree at the University of North Dakota.

In 1961, he joined the Palda, Peterson, and Anderson Law firm.

Andrew married Judy Thompson on October 2, 1964. They made their home in Minot where they raised their two children, Beth and Mike.

He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot and the Masonic Lodge, Minot.

Andrew enjoyed delicious food; he was a great cook. He enjoyed spending time in God’s creation while gardening and camping. He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and toy trains, as well as writing poetry. He loved to play basketball and always enjoyed watching the Yankees play.

He will be remembered for his wittiness, intelligence, and sometimes serious demeanor.

His loving family includes: wife of 61 years, Judy; children, Mike (Karmen) Tossett, and Beth (John) Woods; grandchildren, Alexis (Jaden) Disher, Zachary Tossett, and Megan Tossett; great-grandchildren, Reed and Brooks Disher; nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dog, Redd.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norene Gunning; grandson, Jacob Tossett.

Private family services were held.
