Vikie Fraser

Aug. 27, 1949-Jan. 4, 2026

Minot

Vikie Fraser, 76, Minot, ND, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, in her home.

Vikie Lou Teets was born August 27, 1949, the daughter of Harvey and Delores (Mickelson) Teets, in Minot. She was the oldest of five children and was raised in Logan and educated in Sawyer until the 11th Grade. Her family moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 1966, where she graduated from high school in 1967.

Following high school, Vikie returned to Minot where she met her future husband, airman, Donald “Don” Fraser. They married on November 8, 1969, in Minot. They made their home in Minot until Don’s discharge from the Air Force when they moved to Ann Arbor, MI.

While Don pursued a degree at the University of Michigan, Vikie went to work for AT&T, where she made many friends and was considered an exemplary employee. She and Don enjoyed their life in Ann Arbor. They loved attending Michigan Wolverines football games, an enthusiasm they maintained for the rest of their lives.

In 1975, Vikie and Don returned to Minot. Their first son, Christopher Scott Fraser, was born in September of 1976. Their second son, Matthew Charles Fraser, was born in 1979.

Vikie went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education at Minot State University. After graduating she worked as a substitute teacher for several years while also working at JC Penny. She eventually went on to work as a library assistant at the Minot Public Library, where she stayed throughout the mid 90’s and made many lasting friends.

Following her passion for education and youth, Vikie went on to work at the Dakota Boys Ranch as the librarian and in-house substitute teacher. Her colleagues, and many of the youth that she worked with, were deeply impressed by her patience and empathy.

After her husband, Don, started his own lighting company in the late 90’s Vikie assisted him as a bookkeeper and manager, and together they built a successful business.

Vikie loved reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a deeply compassionate person who was always available to help friends or family members in need. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher and Matthew Fraser, her three sisters and brother, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Delores Teets, and her husband Don.
