Ronnie Pretzer, 86, Minot, formerly of Granville, ND, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at his residence.
Ronnie Lane Pretzer was born on May 6, 1939, on a farm north of Velva, ND, a son of Frank and Adeline (Markle) In 1957, Ronnie graduated from Velva High School, and he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in June of 1960.
Ronnie was united in marriage to Diane Legg on March 26, 1961, at the Ruso Lutheran Church. They made their home on the Pretzer farm near Simcoe, ND, where they raised small grains.
Ronnie was an active member of the Stenkjaer Lutheran Church, Simcoe, ND.
Ronnie was an excellent farmer and enjoyed it immensely. When he wasn’t farming, really enjoyed bowling or could be found watching the Minnesota Twins/ Vikings, playing pinochle or other games with the family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Diane; children, John (Donna) Pretzer, and Renae (Mark) Haberman;five grandchildren, Stephanie (Jacob Eckhardt) Pretzer, Allison (Dusty Johnston) Pretzer-Johnston, Daniel Pretzer, Nicole (Thomas) Lien and David (Casey) Haberman; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Oswald Trana; brother, Gary.
Visitation: There will be no viewing, however, friends may sign a guest register on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial Service: Monday, February 2, 2026, at 11 am at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Burial: A private burial will take place at a later date.
