RaNae Hauge
Sept. 24, 1958 – Jan. 15, 2026
Mohall
RaNae Susan Hauge, 67, of Mohall, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at her home.
RaNae, lovingly known as ‘Nae’ by her husband and ‘Grandma Nae Nae’ by her grandkids, was born Sept. 24, 1958, in Valley City, to LeRoy and Verlaun “Lonnie” (Christianson) Fonder. She was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1976.
RaNae Fonder and Brent Hauge knew each other in high school but never dated; in fact, they double-dated to prom–with different dates. The two reconnected in their mid-twenties and were married on May 2, 1985, in Las Vegas. They welcomed their first child in February 1986, and later that year made Mohall their home, where they would raise their family and build a life together.
RaNae stayed home to raise their two daughters and was often found helping care for neighborhood children as well. Once her girls were older, she began working part-time mornings at the Mohall Post Office. She later took the leap to become Postmaster in Antler and eventually returned to Mohall as Postmaster. RaNae truly loved her work and her customers, often joking that the post office doubled as a therapy office, as people came for their mail and stayed to visit. She also filled in at the Sherwood, Tolley, and Lansford post offices. RaNae retired in 2014 at the age of 55.
Throughout the years, RaNae served her community, whether it was helping start kids Bingo, teaching Sunday School, helping with Girl Scouts, or serving as a room parent for her girls’ school parties. She and Brent were currently raising their granddaughter, Brea, and shared their home with her beloved dogs, Sonnie and Sammi, and Brea’s cat, Alex.
She enjoyed gardening, online shopping, gaming, scary movies, and traveling with Brent and friends. RaNae had an artistic flair and loved drawing, crocheting, and working with ceramics. In her younger years, she played softball, bowled, and was actively involved in all of her children’s activities. An introverted extrovert, RaNae enjoyed being around people but was equally content staying home.
Family: RaNae is survived by her husband of 40 years, Brent Hauge, of Mohall; daughters, Jaime (Daryl Dotson) Hauge, of Glenburn, and Kelsey Hauge, of Minot; grandchildren, Brea Myers, Jace Hauge, Novaleigh Hauge, Brodey Hauge-Dotson, Camden Dotson, and Ace Dotson; brothers, Rod Fonder and Richie Fonder, both of Minot; sister-in-law, Deborah (Mike) Fogarty, of Minot; brothers-in-law, Brian Hauge, of Riverton, Wyo., and Scott (Allison) Hauge, of Bismarck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
RaNae was preceded in death by: her parents, LeRoy and Verlaun Fonder; her brother, Randy Fonder; her parents-in-law, Doug and Joan Hauge; and her brother-in-law, Doug Hauge Jr.
