Gerald Schloer, 89, Burlington, ND, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in his home.

Gerald David Schloer was born August 19, 1936, to Robert and Margaret (Houston) Schloer in Minot, ND. He attended school in Burlington and then at Minot High School, graduating in 1956.

Gerald was united in marriage to Julene Anderson on June 11, 1960, in Minot. They were blessed with three children, Dan, Karen, and David.

Gerald began his plumbing and heating career in 1956, working at various plumbing companies in Minot and at Power and Gasification Plant in Beulah, ND. In 1987, Gerald and his business partner, Jim Geer started G & S Plumbing and Heating keeping the business until retiring in 2000.

He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed golfing, camping, dancing, hunting, taking trips to the casino, and teaching the whole family how to shake dice. Gerald enjoyed stating “it’s 5 o’clock” somewhere and socializing with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Julene; children, Dan (Linda) Schloer, Karen (Don) Cree, and David Schloer; 12 grandchildren: 11 Great-grandchildren; Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Schloer; sister, JoAnn (Harry) Brown; brother, Jim (Kathryn) Schloer; niece, Theresa Kinny; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Klein.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, January 13, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed on the link provided on Gerald webpage at www.thompsonlarson.com.

A private family burial will take place at a later date at the Burlington Community Cemetery, Burlington, ND

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Burlington Senior Center, Burlington, ND.
